Bqaa Kafra, Liban. La grotte de Saint Charbel. Saint Charbel (Youssef Antoun Makhlouf, 8 mai 1828 - 24 décembre 1898) né à Bqaa Kafra, était un prêtre et moin-ermite de l'église maronite. Il est officielement le saint-patron du Liban. Il a été béatifié en 1965 et canonisé en 1977 par le pape Paul VI. C'est dans cette grotte que le jeune Charbel Makhlouf priait tous les jours, à genoux, devant une image de la Sainte Vierge. L'église ainsi que le musée ont vu le jour au XXe siècle.

Bqaa Kafra, Lebanon. The grotto of Saint Sharbel. Saint Sharbel (Youssef Antoun Makhlouf, 8 May 1828 - 24 December 1898) born in Bqaa Kafra, was a priest and a hermit-monk of the Maronite Church. He is officially the patron saint of Lebanon. He was beatified in 1965 and Canonised in 1977 by Pope Paul VI. It is in this grotto that young Sharbel Makhlouf praid on his his knees every day in front of an image of the Virgin Mary. The church and museum have been added in the XXth century.
