Ming Xiaoling Tomb/Xiaoling Mausoleum
Nankin, Chine. Tombeau Xiaoling. Chemin de l'elephant de pierre. Le long des deux côtés s'alignent une série de 24 sculptures en pierre représentent 12 paires d'animaux : lions, xieshi (chimères), chameaux, éléphants, kylins (licornes), chevaux. Chaque espèce a quatre représentants, deux debout et deux au repos. La chimère (Quilin) est une créature imaginaire de la Chine antique avec les traits du tigre, du lion, du buffle et du dragon.
Nanjing, China. Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum. Stone Elephant Road. The road is lined with 12 pairs of 6 animals: lions, xiezhi (chimera), camels, elephants, quilin (unicorns) and horses. Every kind of animal has a pair standing and a pair seated. Camels standing. The chimera (Quilin) is an imaginary beast from ancient China that integrates the features of the tiger, the lion, the ox and the dragon.
